I couldn't find anything suitable so I made my own catch. It is operated by an 8mm allen key

this has to be a 'two stage' lock for SVA requirements. the original beetle item will work with some modification

If I had thought on I would have salvaged the captive plate from the donor!

Rear clamshell release lever

This needs to pull on two cables simultaneously to release the rear clamshell

I cut this by hand from 10mm thick aluminium. The black part is turned from delrin ( a self lubricating nylon type material) The adjusters are for carbs and were purchased on Ebay

Roll hoops in position

Upper fixing location

This is also to double as the upper mounting for the seat belts. The pipe was drilled to accept steel bushes that were drilled and tapped to accept seatbelt bolts.

Lower fixing

L shaped brackets used to fix the hoops to the chassis.
